Jim Williams is a photographer of our natural heritage. He has traveled throughout the U.S. for over 30 years to build images with subjects that are wild and free.
More than merely documenting the scenes, his work strives to be an artistic expression that uses form, pattern, color, and other principles of design, woven with the nuances of natural light, to produce photographs capturing the essence of the subject.
Jim believes powerful photographs begin in the heart and are expressed as a strongly unique and personal vision. The love and respect he feels for his subjects is self-evident in his work.
Deciding long ago to dedicate his work only to projects that were more encompassing in their scope than a single image, Jim presents his work in a thematic bodies, reflecting a lifetime of enduring vision quests.
After an education rich in science, graduate work in the fusion of science with art, and a 34 year teaching career, Jim is ready to move on to other challenges. He shares his life and receive inspiration from his wife Pam, daughter Meredith, and his mother, Mom. |
